Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad

On this day, 33 years ago, my parents got married. Five and a half years later, I came along and my sister followed almost 3 years after that.

Doesn't my mum look beautiful, she was only 20 at the time so very young as well. Seeing as I will be 28 when I get married next year, I cant imagine getting married so young! Check out my dads moustache, very 70's! He looked very smart in his top hat and tails too but he now has a full kilt outfit which he will wear for my wedding.

They only had 13 official pictures in their album, as well as a few snapshots. I loved getting the photos out and rummaging through them all. There were no photos inside the church though. My dad also noticed that they never had a photo of all the guests together and said it was something he would have liked to have been able to look at again. Definitely one for our photographers list!

L-R: Best man Robert & Dad; My Granny Sophie (mums mum) & my aunt Janice (mums sister & the bridesmaid); My Nana Jessie (dads mum), my uncle Ian (dads brother) & dads granny

L-R: My Grandad Hugh (mums dad), Mum & her 2 flowergirls, my cousin Christine & Patricia; Just Married

L-R: Dad was a Boys Brigade leader at the time and mum helped out so they came to provide a guard of honour; Leaving the Churchyard

Both families {my dads dad had died when he was a lot younger}

L-R: Mum & her bridesmaids; Bridal Party

L-R: Confetti; Cutting the Cake

L-R: Outside the Church; Dad, my Nana, my aunt Morag (dads sister), my uncle Ian

I love this picture of them leaving, with even more confetti, as they both look so happy! My dad said the reception venue didn't have any bedrooms so they had to get changed in the toilets before they left!

And here they are today, soon to be grandparents {my sister is pregnant, not me!} The next year is going to be really busy!

While searching through all the photos my mum has, we managed to find some of my aunts wedding {which was the first wedding I attended} as well as my granny's so expect future posts with those pictures! Next I think I'm going to go searching for Grahams parents album too!

I originally got the idea for this post from peacock feathers & diamond rings & the thirty-something bride and more recently on seven weddings and thought it would be a great way to link in the pictures of their wedding day.

  1. Oh how wonderful. They look so happy now and then. I wish my parents had just one photo of the wedding. Alas they were naughty and eloped!
