03.04.10 Our Day by Design: Details

Time for some of the details from our day! Ive already written about all of the DIY items but here is how everything looked on the day! The ushers welcomed everyone to the church by giving them an order of service . I ended up making too many of them but it was better than not having enough. After the receiving line, the guests were able to look at the table plan to find which table they were sitting at, then there were table names on each table. Once the guests had found their tables, the placecards indicated their seat. The guests favours were placed beside the placecards. All of the kids also got Easter eggs we well as the box of mini eggs & a chocolate bunny that each guest received. We also had the menu's on the tables, which looked just like the order of services. The G & G letters were placed in front of the cake, then there was the little Lego bride and groom on our cake. We had sugar flowers on the top of the cake but since we had a glass cube vase separ

03.04.10 Our Day by Design: Our Gifts & My Jewellery

I have mentioned the gifts we got for each other before but hadn't shown any photos. Graham got me princess cut diamond stud earrings & a matching necklace to wear on the day. The diamond style matches my engagement ring. I did pick both the earrings and necklace! You cant really see the front of my necklace in this pic but its the same size diamond as the earrings! As well as my engagement and wedding rings, I also wore the dark blue sapphire ring that my granny left me, which also served as my something old. I love that I can now wear my wedding jewellery all the time and I'm so glad I decided to go with something that I would keep rather than wear just for the day. I got Graham a Tag Heuer watch that he has always wanted. He doesn't wear it to his work but otherwise uses it all the time. He also choose his own watch which I'm glad about as he went for a totally different one than he first wanted. (All images by Craig & Eva Sanders )

Congrats Rebecca & James!

Congratulations to the wonderful Rebecca from Daydreams in Lace who is marrying James today! Rebecca is another British blogger who I found during my planning and I have loved reading her blog and conversing over our love of spooks on twitter! I also met Rebecca back in August with some other lovely bloggers and hopefully we can arrange another meet soon! I hope you both have a fabulous day and it is everything you could have wished for!

Norfolk Broads

We are off to the Norfolk Broads tonight {well as far as Pontefract tonight}, which is where we are spending the next week with my parents, my sister, her fiance & my nephew, as well as my aunt & uncle in a house by the water, which also has its own boat! Im really looking forward to a week relaxing before the next couple of busy months! There probably wont be any internet access(!) so no posts this week, although im going to keep in contact with the world via my iphone! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

250th post! Recent Etsy purchases 2

Whoop! I've reached 250 posts on my little wedding blog and I havent even finished my recaps yet! I thought it was time to take a break from wedding recaps and share some of my recent Etsy purchases! Although I'm no longer looking for wedding related items, I still love browsing on Etsy. I wanted some new earrings so thought I would take a look and I ended up with a couple of pairs and a few other things! Purple & Grey Pearl Earrings from seller Abacus Bead Creations (Images from here ) White Gold Orchid Earrings from seller Delicacy J (Image from here ) Grey Five Flower Cluster Pin from seller No Plain T's (Image from here ) Deco & Filigree Snowflake Rubber Stamps from seller Norajane (Images from here & here ) Set of 3 Manhattan 5x7 Prints by seller StudioKMO (Image from here ) I love the earrings and the Manhattan prints; we just need to get a new frame so that we can get them up on the wall, along with our framed wedding print and the picture of our ven

03.04.10 Our Day by Design: Evening Reception

The rest of the reception went so fast! Our photographers stayed until around 20 minutes after the first dance so they could take some shots of the guests dancing, which I loved seeing. All of a sudden it was time for them to leave, they had been with us for over 10 hours by then which was fantastic and meant we got every part of the day captured. The band were brilliant and had everyone up dancing all night, I don't think the floor was ever empty which was great. Hip Operation are an 8 piece band which was prefect for the large stage at Norton House so I'm so glad they were all able to come. {All images above by Craig & Eva Sanders } We had 3 ceilidh dances included; the Gay Gordons, the Dashing White Sergeant & the St Bernards Waltz. I managed to drag Graham up for the Gay Gordons since it was the first one but I sat out for the others; my organza train had come a bit loose from the lining during the Gay Gordons {think someone stood on it} and

03.04.10 Our Day by Design: First Dance

We don't have 'a song' so we didn't really have a clue what to have for our first dance! Very quickly Graham vetoed anything by Westlife and also the song by East 17 that we had our first ever kiss too {which I thought would have been funny!} After a while of going back and forward we decided on one of my favourite songs; When You Say Nothing At All by Ronan Keating, from the film Notting Hill. We danced on our own for a very short time, we didn't want to be there on our own for too long, especially when everyone is looking at you and taking loads of photos; Graham hardly ever dances either so it was quite an achievement to get him up for so long at all! Then my sister and the best man were called on to the floor, followed by the rest of the bridal party and our parents, my mum dancing with Grahams dad & my dad with Grahams mum. O ur second option was Empire State of Mind Part II by Alicia Keyes, since it fit in with our New York table names and where we
