3 months!

3 months married already! The last month has been as busy as ever and I finally started my wedding day recaps! I finished making all of the thank you cards, the photos on the front look great, and I will share them with you once more of our guests have received them. Once I got the Moo cards for inside, I started writing them and have even sent around 38 out, mostly to our families, the bridal party and then people as I have seen or am going to see them. I think I have around 55 to go and 3 months was my aim so I will be finishing them next week! The album design hasn't got any further than it had last month but that it also on the must do list for next week. The rest of the month we had a lovely weekend down in London; then me & the other bridesmaids have been finalising the plans for my bridesmaid Helen's hen do which is next Saturday. I still cant say what we have planned yet in case she reads this but I cant wait for that. Our next bridesmaids dress fitting for the wedd...

We can definitely get married!

I picked up our marriage schedule at the registrars this morning; which means we can definitely get married! When I was there I had to sign to say I had picked it up in a fountain pen, the same thing we will use on Saturday and they are hard to use! Maybe I should practice beforehand! He also reminded me that I have to sign my name as it just now and not my new surname! We will take the schedule to the rehearsal on Friday to give to the minister before Saturday. After the service he is going to deliver it to the registrars so we don't need to worry about it at the reception. After lunch with bridesmaid Lucy and her daughter Emily, I picked up a few more things we needed; coloured pens for the guest book & plastic wallets to put the hings for each table in, as well as some toothbrushes, tissues & contact lens drops to take on honeymoon. On my way back to Edinburgh I had to go to HobbyCraft AGAIN to get more glue, then into the Body Shop to get some blotting tissues before ge...

1 week to go!

Just 7 days to go! I have been busy today writing cheques for the last people that need paid; then I finished painting our letters and all of the frames that we are putting the table names in. They are all currently drying on the floor and I just need to do another coat on the & symbol! This week I also started stamping the questions into the guest book and got more grey paper to use as the backing for the Polaroid Pogo photo prints. I just need to get yet more glue tape pens then that will be the last DIY task completed! I also spent the last half of the week preparing my portfolio for a job interview. I'm happy to say I got offered the job and providing my reference is OK, I will start just after our honeymoon! I'm really looking forward to this new challenge and so glad we now don't have to worry and can fully enjoy our honeymoon!

10 days to go!

Just 10 days till the wedding! (Image from the knot ) I have been so busy the last couple of weeks but got lots done which was great. I had my hair & make-up trials and my fantastic hen weekend. I picked up all of the bridesmaids dresses as well as the flowergirls dress from the cleaners {it came out lovely} and got her shoes too. I got my engagement ring cleaned and I'm going to pick it up today. I have also been buying bits and pieces for our honeymoon and I also got my typhoid injection for it too. Our tickets arrived for the honeymoon yesterday. We have paid for lots of things in the last few weeks too including the photographer, venue, cars, chair covers, florist, seamstress and also the piper which we just booked last week. We have booked one to play when the guests arrive at the venue and to pipe us to the top table at dinner. We have finished all of the order of service's and I have also printed an extra 30 without the card overlay in case we have additional guests ...

25 days to go!

Its only 25 days until the wedding today! (Image from the knot ) This last few weeks have just flown and I cant believe we are almost at 3 weeks to go! We have had a busy time lately with meetings, appointments, dress fittings, what happened with my work and trying to find a replacement dress for our flowergirl. Turns out I couldn't order a new dress since they are out of stock so I went back to Debenhams today and they gave me another 30% off the dress since it was so dirty. Now i just need to get it dry cleaned by the cleaner recommended by my dress shop and hope that it turns out ok! This week I have been assembling some of the order of service's, with the help of mum and dad, and we now have 63 made. Since we only have 90 or so to make, we are almost finished. Ashleigh & my nephew Enzo are coming up tomorrow and I'm so excited about seeing them again. Thursday we will be preparing for the weekend before Ashleigh has her dress fitting and I have my hair and make-up t...

1 month to go!

I cant believe this will be my last month to go post as from now I'm counting in weeks & days! We have managed to achieve lots in the last month, and I thought it would be easier to re-cap in a list: Posted the evening invites; Had our food tasting; Met the minister & our photographers; Paid for the rest of my dress; Had my 1st & 2nd dress fittings; 3 bridesmaids have had their 1st fittings; Started the order of service'; Made mock-ups of the placecards; Made up all of the favours & bought Easter eggs for the kids; Ordered my veil & tiara; Bought Grahams watch; Graham bought me my jewellery; Ordered gifts for the bridal party; Ordered gifts for our parents; Got our wedding rings engraved, I just picked them up; Bought a Lego bride & groom; Submitted our marriage notice forms; Bought frames for the table names; Bought hair combs & pashmina's for the bridesmaids; Paid for the coach for the guests; Received most of the RSVP's; Had a first manicu...

50 days to go!

Its only 50 days until the wedding today! (Image from the knot ) I cant believe its coming so quick and it feels like the next 7 weeks are going to fly by. My diary is filling up with appointments and meetings including meeting the minister; our food & wine tasting; my hair & make-up trials; dress fittings for me and the bridesmaids; our hen & stag weekends and a meeting with the florist!

2 months to go!

Eeeeek, only 2 months to go! {since February is so short, its only 59 days!} So we have made lots of progress this month which is great and means we have managed to cross off some items on our to do list . Our biggest achievement was getting the day invites posted on Monday. I just heard from my aunt and the minister that theirs arrived today! I'm now working on the evening invites and have already printed 12 and probably have another 15 to do. I am going to finish them this weekend. Otherwise, I booked the hairdressers, got ribbon for the favour boxes and order of service, decided on our hymns and I just spoke to the minister and arranged to meet him on the 17th February. I have also started filling in the marriage notice forms which we will send to the registrar next week. We managed to get my mums outfit, Graham was able to try his kilt on, I got my shoes and we picked up and paid for our wedding rings. Apart from that we had a meeting at our venue, paid more of our venue cost, ...

3 months to go!

Today we only have 3 months to go! We didn't really have a busy wedding month in December with our holiday then spending lots of time with family and friends over Christmas & New Year. My nephew Enzo had changed so much since we saw him last at his christening and it was lovely to be there for his 1st Christmas and watch him starting to play with his new toys. Since I haven't been feeling great I never got any more of the invites done so that's definitely top of this months list and I'm hoping to carry on with them next weekend. When we were away I managed to buy lots of ribbon to use for the favour boxes and the order of service and now just need to order more grey ribbon to use as well. We bought dye to try for the flowergirls sash, however, we also managed to find quite wide ribbon that's an almost match for the bridesmaids dress fabric that we could use instead. The bridesmaids dresses and our wedding rings have also arrived so we will be going to pay for th...

94 days to go!

Its only 94 days until the wedding today! (Image from the knot ) Since I missed the 100 day mark {which was on Christmas eve}, I thought I should try to resume normal posting with an update on how soon the wedding is. I cant believe we are now down to double figures! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year for tomorrow. Its not long until I can say that I'm getting married this year! ps. I know I said here that normal posting would resume soon but we have been very busy up to and over Christmas and I also haven't been feeling myself at all. I'm slowly getting better and will have lots to post about in the next few weeks when I can also hopefully get back to commenting on all of my favourite blogs!

4 months to go!

Eeeeeek! Now we have only 4 months to go, its coming so quick! We had a really busy month in November! Our G & G letters arrived and we bought purple and grey paint for them. I went to meet the florist, got an idea of the flowers then paid the deposit. I also started guest blogging on Little Miss Wedding. We ordered our wedding rings, Grahams kilt & set up our gift list at John Lewis and we finally got some wedding insurance. I also started making the day invites, booked & paid the deposit for a coach for our guests and spoke to the minister at the church. Since we have been in Florida I have also bought a few more things including an edge punch for the table names or table plan; a corner punch for the order of service’, menus or placecards; purple beverage napkins for the welcome drinks or cake and I also ordered mini gable boxes for the favours which should arrive tomorrow. So next month {as well as still being on holiday for the next 9 days} I want to get the rest of the...

5 months to go!

Now we have only 5 months to go, and with holidays & Christmas just around the corner, its going to be January before we know it! October was probably our most productive month for a while, with lots going on and the last of our main suppliers booked. As well as our week in the Cotswolds and my nephews christening, I got to my goal weight at WW. We booked the florist, the cake and the chair covers at our venue's wedding fair. I made an invite mock-up, ordered all the supplies for the invitations and started making them while we were away. We also started thinking about the hymns for our ceremony. Both myself and the bridesmaids got measured for our dresses and I bought a dress for our flowergirl! Next month, we are definitely going to order Grahams kilt and the wedding rings, as well as hopefully getting most of the invites made before we go to Florida. Which also means we need to decide on where our gift list will be so we can include it! I'm meeting the florist next week ...

6 months to go!

Yikes only 6 months to go! I bet its going to fly by! In the last month I booked the make-up company, ordered samples of backing cards for the invites, spoke briefly to the hairdressers about when we can book & when I will have my hair trial and ordered our G & G wooden letters! I also got my engagement ring re-sized and I picked it up this afternoon. Apart from that its been a really exciting time with the late arrival of my gorgeous nephew Enzo. Not to mention reaching a couple of milestones, our 1 year engaged anniversary and 100 posts! So next month is definitely the invite mock-ups, getting me then the bridesmaids measured for our dresses, spending a week in the Cotswolds with my family {only 2 weeks to go}, a wedding fair at our venue where we hope to sort the cake, flowers and chair covers, then little Enzo's christening. Sounds like we are going to be super busy! I would also like to get our wedding rings ordered and start thinking about the hymns and readings for ...

200 days to go!

Its only 200 days until the wedding today! (Image from the knot ) From tomorrow it will be down to 100 & something days which sounds a lot sooner than 200!

7 Months to go!

The last month has gone so fast, now we have only 7 months to go! We have done a few more things in the last month including deciding on the bridesmaids dresses, confirming that the pianist is available at our church on our date and sent the rest of the save the date cards. I have also started thinking more about the invites. I got a new stamp for them, ordered some samples of patterned paper & vellum envelopes as well as some different samples of card for the evening invites. Next, I plan on doing some mock-ups! ps. 6 weeks until we go to the Cotswolds & 3 months till Florida!

8 months to go!

Only 8 months to go! The time is flying by! We have managed to accomplish quite a lot in the last month. We booked the all important Honeymoon, sent almost all the save the date cards {just a couple more to finish tonight}, and we have pretty much chosen the bridesmaids dresses {Hazel is coming up on Saturday to try it on too}. I also managed to find another possible rubber stamp for the invites. I have also made lots of baby announcement cards for Ashleigh {a post will follow about them once she has seen them}, as well as some new baby cards. I have made 2 boy & 2 girl cards so for 3 babies I'm hoping that will be ok, unless they all have boys! {Angela had a baby boy this morning! Yippee finally one of the babies arrived!} Not really sure what we are going to do next, I'm going to put off the florist until I get my dress material sample and we have made a final decision on the bridesmaids dress colour. Norton house are having a wedding open day on the 15th which I think we...

9 Months to go!

Wow, only 9 months to go! We have now been engaged longer than the remaining time to our big day! In the last month I have ordered my dress, started collecting prices for our honeymoon, finished and sent most of the save the date cards as well as spending a lot of my time either writing posts for this blog or collecting supplies (stamps/card/paper/ribbon/buttons etc) for the invites and to make baby cards & other projects in the coming months. So in the next month we still need to contact some florists and hopefully will choose the bridesmaids dresses and book our honeymoon (as well as updating this blog with all the rest of the things we have done already - like the save the date cards, ring shopping, honeymoon & bridesmaids dress ideas etc). Its not wedding related at all, but while we are counting down, in 5 months time, we will be in Florida! It will also be my birthday! ps. I also need to do something about my blog header as its a bit boring just now!

10 Months to go!

I cant believe its only 10 months until the wedding which means that we have been engaged for almost 9 months! When we first got engaged I thought April 2010 seemed so far away but its going to be here before we know it! So now plenty still to do - next on my list is to order my dress, start looking for my veil & tiara, contact some florists then start searching for the bridesmaids dresses (as well as actually updating this blog with all the things we have done already - like the church; venue; photographer; band; cars; dress etc).
