03.04.10 Our Day by Design: Photographs - Bridal Party

Since my dress was quite long, I often needed help to move anywhere outside, so with my girls holding my train, we headed towards the steps to take some bridal party photos. First with the full bridal party. Then we got one with just me & my bridesmaids followed by Graham & his best man & ushers. Everyone else he aded back inside to enjoy the canapes and a drink, while we went to get photos taken on our own... (All images by Craig & Eva Sanders )

03.04.10 Our Day by Design: The Boys Arrival

The boys made their way to the church in plenty time; its only about 5 minutes drive from Grahams parents house, so it didnt take them long to get there. They got some portraits of them all together then just Graham and his best man, his cousin Andrew. L-R: My cousin Murray, Graham, Graham's cousin Andrew & Jake {Hazel's boyfriend}; Graham & Andrew Then it was time to greet the guests as they arrived. Graham then made his way into the church with his best man. Meanwhile, the ushers stayed at the entrance and awaited our arrival! p.s. if anyone is debating whether to go for a photographer with 1 or 2 people taking pictures; I would say go with 2 if the budget allows as I loved seeing what the boys were up and vice versa in the morning and all of the guests arriving etc before we got there. 03.04.10 Our Day by Design: Getting Ready - The Boys

While the girls were getting ready in Edinburgh, the boys were down at Grahams parents house in Haddington. After the rehearsal they had gone to the pub for a quick drink before all heading back to their own homes, and meeting up again in the morning, once they were all dressed. Once they got to Grahams parents, they put on their buttonholes. Then it was time for a champagne toast! Before they left the house, they also took a few group shots as Grahams aunt & uncle had also arrived {Grahams mum & aunt are twins which did confuse some people at the wedding} and also got one of Graham and his parents. Then it was time for them to get in the car and head to the church. Once they arrived at the church, they took some portraits of the boys together, before greeting the guests as they were arriving... Rehearsal Dinner {Recap}

After the rehearsal we all headed down to where we were having dinner. I went the short distance in the car with my mum and dad since we had all of the bridal party & parents gifts in the boot, and there were too many to carry! Everyone who was at the rehearsal came down and we also met the other bridesmaids partners there too, which made 25 people in total. We had booked the private room at the Conservative Club in Haddington, which also does food, as we thought would be nicer than being in a crowded restaurant and its close to the church. We were spread out over just 2 tables which worked out great. After getting some drinks & ordering, since it was our flowergirl Georgia's birthday, we gave her her present. Birthday Gift Then we gave our the gifts to the bridesmaids , best man & ushers , our parents and we also got some champagne for the other reader, Grahams uncle Brian. Giving the Bridal Party & Parents Gifts After dinner, Georgia's mum had brought a bir...

Time to Rehearse {Recap}

I'm going to start the recaps with the wedding rehearsal which took place the night before, on Good Friday, the 2nd of April. I have decided to wait to do the honeymoon recaps after I have told you all about the wedding, as I wanted to keep it in order, and since I still had the few DIY items to tell you about first too! After we had finished at Ocean Terminal, Dad headed to the station to pick up Ashleigh's fiance Patrick and Graham came to pick up me, mum, Ashleigh & Enzo. We dropped them off at mums then headed home to get ready. After packing the last stuff I would need for the next day, and getting all of the bridal party & parents gifts too {which almost took up the whole boot}, I dropped my stuff off at mums & transferred the gifts to dads car before heading down to the church. I went with mum & dad while Graham took our car down to his mum & dads so we could leave it there while we were away on honeymoon. I used the journey down to post a couple ...

Best Man & Ushers Gifts

Although we got the girls things they could use on the wedding day, there wasn't really anything the guys needed since we were hiring them full kilt outfits. We wanted to get them something they could keep but also that they could use if they wanted on the day so we chose hip flasks which they could carry in their sporrans. (Image from here ) We got the hip flasks online from a company called Kiltmakers . They also offer engraving so we got their initials engraved onto the front. We thought we should also get them something to put inside the flask so got miniatures of their favourite tipple's from the Whisky Shop in Ocean Terminal {they have every kind you could want!} Sailor Jerry Rum for Murray; Jim Beam for Andrew; Southern Comfort for Jake & Macallan Single Malt for our dads {who also got hip flasks with their initials!} I mentioned before that we also got them a funny gift of Storm Trooper Lego cufflinks from Etsy seller Crimson King . (Image from here ) They were so...
