For the favours we decided to keep them simple. As we got married on Easter Saturday we thought chocolate eggs would be perfect.
We got the mini gable boxes in the states in December. I had found them online but they were too expensive to get shipped to the UK {not sure what we would have done if we weren't going to Florida!} They came flat so we had to build them up before we started with the decoration. We stuck a length of grey ribbon around each box, then covered the gap with the same seal that we used on the invite bellybands, with our names and the wedding date.
Once all the sticking had been done, we filled each box with purple tissue paper. Inside each box we then put a mini Lindt gold bunny & about 7 mini Lindt chocolate eggs. We chose the Lindt chocolate as we knew it was good quality chocolate and each bunny / egg was individually wrapped. We managed to get them all in Morrisons; they did look at us slightly oddly since we were buying their full stock!
I think we paid around £40 for the boxes then at least £70 for the chocolate so they were around £1.20 each. We made 92 boxes in total, one for each guest, and packed in them in 5 large boxes ready to be taken to the venue. Once we made them we kept them in my parents garage to keep them cool!
This is what they looked like on the tables with the placecards.
For the children, we also got them a proper Easter egg from Thorntons {it was my nephew Enzo's first Easter egg but I'm not sure if he got to eat it!} We got white chocolate eggs for the 4 babies and milk chocolate eggs for the 3 older kids.
They cost slightly more than the other favours but as we managed to get them 'buy 1 get 1 free' in February, they ended up being just £1.75 each! We got Thorntons to put their names on them too which made it easy for the venue to know where to put them on each table.
Chocolate eggs, how yummy!
