Order of Service

Another of our DIY items were the order of service's for the church ceremony. We made these before the menu's , which followed their design; the only difference was that the order of service had more text inside. The order of service was printed onto the sparkly paper and the 4 corners were punched with the Fiskars drops punch . We just used one sheet of paper, which we had bought pre-cut from PDA {it was such a time saver the buy the paper pre-cut, even though it was more expensive, as we just had to print & then fold}. We printed the sheet double sided to fit everything on so that we only had one sheet to attach to the tall purple card, which were the same as those used for the menu's. Inside we had a title page then wrote the full ceremony order, with the hymn titles & readings, on the second page. The third & fourth pages had the words to the 3 hymns, the sung blessing wording and the names of the full bridal party at the end. For the front we used the...

Favours

For the favours we decided to keep them simple. As we got married on Easter Saturday we thought chocolate eggs would be perfect. We got the mini gable boxes in the states in December. I had found them online but they were too expensive to get shipped to the UK {not sure what we would have done if we weren't going to Florida!} They came flat so we had to build them up before we started with the decoration. We stuck a length of grey ribbon around each box, then covered the gap with the same seal that we used on the invite bellybands, with our names and the wedding date. Once all the sticking had been done, we filled each box with purple tissue paper. Inside each box we then put a mini Lindt gold bunny & about 7 mini Lindt chocolate eggs. We chose the Lindt chocolate as we knew it was good quality chocolate and each bunny / egg was individually wrapped. We managed to get them all in Morrisons; they did look at us slightly oddly since we were buying their full stock! I think w...

Menu's

As well as the table names & placecards , each table also had 3 menu's so that everyone could see what we were going to eat. The menu's followed the design of the order of service's which I have yet to show you. The menu was printed onto the sparkly paper then I used the Fiskars drops punch that we bought in the states , on each corner. Each menu sheet was then stuck inside tall purple cards, which we bought pre-cut and pre-scored from PDA . For the outer decoration I made small squares, like on the invite bellybands, just using grey card and sparkly paper, with 'Wedding Breakfast Menu' and the wedding date. Mini holes were then punched in the middle of the card, at both the top and bottom, and thin grey ribbon was threaded through then tied into a bow on the outside. We only had to make 30 of these so they didn't take as long as any of the other DIY items. My parents did help with these too which it made it much easier as one person punched the corner...

Placecards

Since we haven't got our DVD of photos yet, I'm going to start the wedding recaps with all of the other DIY items we made & the other stuff we bought for the wedding. I intended to show everything before the wedding but I ran out of time to write blog posts in the last week! As well as the table plan & table names to direct everyone to their table, which I showed you here , we also had placecards for everyone. I made the placecards before I made the table names & table plan and I mentioned before how I made the design similar so that they would all tie together. Each person's name was printed and cut out of the sparkly paper then each name was punched along the top and ribbon added along the bottom. The paper was then stuck onto grey backing card before being stuck onto one side of the purple folded placecard, which we bought pre-cut & pre-scored from PDA . Once I had figured out how to print all the names the right size on the A4 sheet of paper and cut them...

Lovely Bloggers - Thank You

Before I start the wedding recaps I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who left lovely comments on my I'm Married! post; It was lovely to receive them all when we were away on honeymoon. Some lovely bloggers also did posts and mentions on their own blogs which I loved finding in my google reader: The lovely anna did this post on our wedding day: today will be a good day which included the fab picture below with our wedding date. When she posted it at 11:25am I think we were drinking rose champagne and I was sooooo nervous! Thank you anna. (Image from here ) Thank you also to R , a fellow Scottish bride, who also did a post on our wedding day: G&G Are getting married which had some lovely comments about my blog and my DIY! After the wedding the lovely Claire also did me a post: Gaynor got married . Even though she was super busy with her own upcoming big day, Stacey remembered my day here and I was also featured on one of Zoe's Weddingnesday posts! Thank you la...

1 month!

Just a quick post to say that we have been married for 1 month already! It doesn't feel like that long at all but that's probably because we we were away for a full 3 weeks! Recaps will begin soon!

Back in Edinburgh!

We finally got back to Edinburgh today after having 5 extra nights in the Maldives. We managed to get on the flight yesterday back to London then after a night in the Travelodge near the airport, we flew up to Edinburgh today. I'm preparing to start my new job tomorrow so I'm not sure when my recaps will start and I also have lots of stuff still to tell you about that I ran out of time for before the wedding. The honeymoon was all excellent as well so plenty to share about that too! I currently have 853 items in my google reader so its going to take some time for me to catch up with everyone's news too!
