While the boys were getting portraits taken and greeting the guests, we were on our way. The journey did seem to take quite a while and although I was conscious of the fact we had left a little later than planned, I didn't have a watch on and dad wouldn't tell me the actual time in case I freaked out! However, as the driver then pointed out; he could only travel at 55mph so there wasn't much we could do about the journey time! Me and dad chatted all the way and I re-touched my lipstick and lip gloss at one of the million sets of traffic lights we went through as there was a handy mirror inside the car!
The bridesmaids arrived first and waited outside with mum and the ushers until I arrived.
The bridesmaids arrived first and waited outside with mum and the ushers until I arrived.
Then we pulled into Haddington and soon were at the traffic lights before the church. All I could see at this point was the minister waiting for us and LOADS of people waiting to see me; it was all a bit surreal!
After some photos; it was time for me to get out of the car, with a little help from the drivers! While this was going on, mum was getting escorted to her seat by usher Murray, my cousin, while Jake waited outside as he was going to close the church doors when everyone was in!
Before we went inside; we got a shot of me and my dad on the steps, which I love. I also love that we got the same shot from a different angle, and love how the minister is looking at his watch here; it was probably around 1.20pm here and the service was supposed to start at 1pm! Im not sure what Graham was thinking of the time at this point but think he was just getting more nervous and probably not at all surprised that I was late!
My bridesmaids fixed my dress, Lucy almost ripped hers as she caught the hem with the front of her shoe; then it was time to line up on the stairs as we had rehearsed.
The music started and it was time for the first two bridesmaids to make the their way into the church and down the aisle...

I’m glad it all worked out even though you ran late. We also ran late getting to the “first look” site, but fortunately, we still had plenty of time to take pictures and do what we needed to before the ceremony. I love the pictures of the girls fixing your gown!
