Holden turned eight months old three weeks ago while we were on holiday in Australia. We've only been back for a week and just getting over the jet lag which is why this post is so late. The first couple of weeks of September were a bit quieter than August however we still managed another NCT meet, a trip to the cinema, lots of lunches with friends and some shopping in preparation for our trip. I even managed to have a night with my friends but I really should remember that I can't drink as much anymore! We spent the rest of the month in Perth, Australia and after Holden was a star on the long flights over, we had a brilliant time. I will write a proper post about our trip at some point but we visited the aquarium, the Pinnacles, the Swan Valley winery region, a wildlife park and Rottnest island and we also went on a dolphin adventure cruise in our first two weeks. It has been fantastic to spend so much time with my sister and her family and Holden loved watching both of his cousins.
Holden still loves his food, especially his porridge and yogurt. He's not as keen on more textured or lumpy food and our curry, spaghetti bolognese and macaroni cheese have had mixed results. However he's got a lot better with finger foods while we have been away and seems to like potato wedges! I've continued to feed him and he usually has three or four feeds a day. We knew it would be much easier on the flights and I don't need to worry about going back to work for a while longer. The health visitor came round to weigh him before we went away and he had finally reached a stone, weighing 14lb 2oz, and got back on to the chart. He can now sit up completely on his own now and although he can move backwards he isn't really making much attempt at crawling yet. He tends to just get stuck on the floor and then needs someone to move him. However he never sits still for long, always wanting to stand or jump. He's still a good sleeper and when we arrived in Australia it only took him three nights of upset sleep then he was back to sleeping all night again. He has such a cheeky look sometimes and has started to shake his head, as if he is saying no, whenever he is excited. I think these photos are going to get harder to take from now on as this month he wanted to know what the sticker was then decided to eat it.
I managed to get all of the christening gift thank you cards completed before we left so there are no more to do at the moment. This month we spent another couple of weeks in Australia before coming home and we don't have any plans for the rest of the month for a change.
Happy eight months to Holden! He is a cutie in all of his "month" pictures.
